Janice Weintraub has practiced as a Psychological Associate for over 30 years. Janice has worked with a wide range of clients, from children to adults, and brings a deep understanding of both the complexities of emotional struggles and the power of healing through connection. She is a registered Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), specializing in Clinical and School Psychology.
Janice’s education includes a BA in Psychology from McGill University, an MA in Developmental Psychology from York University, and further training at the PhD level in Clinical-Developmental Psychology. Her graduate research focused on understanding how negative beliefs about emotions are passed down through generations. Over the years, Janice has worked in Ontario mental health centres and schools, gaining expertise in both childhood learning and attention disorders and in helping adults manage mood disorders.
At The Forest Hill Centre, Janice now focuses exclusively on adults and couples. She helps clients navigate challenges like depression, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, work and school difficulties, and parenting concerns. Her approach is rooted in the belief that emotions are a compass that can guide us toward personal growth and change. Janice listens closely to your feelings and helps you do the same, creating space for you to understand and honour your emotional experiences without judgment.
Drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches—including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS)—Janice tailors her approach to meet you where you are. She works through a systemic, attachment-focused lens, helping you identify and shift unhelpful patterns in your relationships and personal life. Janice creates a safe environment where you can explore difficult emotions, face uncertain situations, and rewrite the “dances” that no longer serve you, all while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Janice’s goal is simple but profound: to help you show up authentically, both in the small moments and the big ones. She supports you in accepting what is and in taking committed steps toward what could be. Together, you’ll work on creating lasting change—whether in how you relate to others, how you manage your emotions, or how you approach life’s challenges.
